One special SRT projectile under development called ShockRounds™ contains a
liquefied compressed gas and activates a high-powered “shock wave” that expands rapidly upon impact, disabling
the assailant. One unit volume of liquefied compressed gas will expand to approximately 800 unit volumes of gas at standard
temperature and pressure.
Another SRT projectile is our PepperRounds™ which contains a powerful
chemical irritant. When the round breaks open it disperses a cloud of capsicum disabling attackers. SRT MMS/MEMS technology
ensures that the round breaks open upon impact and disperses the cloud properly. This less-lethal round is useful for room
entries, room searches, traffic stops and defensive tactics.
These projectiles are fired from our SRT approved rifle launchers, which are modeled after
the Colt Industries M4 carbine. The pistol launcher is modeled after a popular, semi-automatic handgun, ideal for close quarters
combat. The choice of the payload determines the stopping power of the round.
These MMS/MEMS
controlled devices act as accelerometers and sense when the round is fired and when it makes contact with its target. It
then activates the payload in a millisecond before the round can penetrate the body.
We have tested thousands
of projectiles and typical ball-shaped rounds (below) do not have the necessary accuracy and do not perform as well as our
d-shaped rounds. Our d-shaped rounds spin around the horizontal axis (rifle) when fired from our SRT approved launchers,
and that gives them greater accuracy and longer range.
